Winnebago County sheriff’s police say the driver lost control of the car and swerved off the road, hitting a tree.
Witnesses say the car looked like it was speeding.
They say the driver came up on a garbage truck along the side of the road, swerved to avoid it and lost control.
Sheriff's police say the driver and a passenger were not seriously injured. Charges are pending.
