A measure to once again, allow horse slaughtering in Illinois is gaining support tonight.
Today the Illinois house partially passed a measure to lift a two-year-old ban on horse slaughtering. That ban led to the shut down of Cavel International in DeKalb. it was the last remaining horse slaughterhouse in the U.S.
Local representative Jim Sacia is pushing for the measure. The plan may include a $25 fee on slaughtered horses to appease animal-rights groups. The money would then be given to horse organizations to fund non-slaughter alternatives.
The measure now moves to the full house.

Bravo, for the Americans supporting horse slaughter. It is about time the American people realized the need for these facilities to exist. All on has to do is look around, especially in the Winter, when grass is scarce and see the abuse and neglect placed on equine that are under fed and cared for. Equine rescue facilities are full to overload at this point-in-time and most are refusing to accept new animals. Where do these bleeding hearts individuals think these neglected animals are going to go? Slaughtering equines is no different that the slaughtering of the steak or bacon you consumed last evening and this morning. Get real people. It benefits no animal to be crowded in a backyard, under fed, and neglected in the name of saving it from slaughter.

Horses are being butchered alive in Canada and Mexico same as when the slaughter houses were here. Take a look at the USDA report...http://www.kaufmanzoning.net/and brace yourself for a horror show from Dallas Crown. Save the horses.
