A couple driving into Neillsville on Highway 73 today was injured when a bomb exploded in their car.
The home made pipe bomb exploded under the male, who was driving the car. He underwent surgery at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville. Authorities say his injuries are not life-threatening.
The female was treated for injuries and released.
Clark County Sheriff Louis Rosandich says the blast blew a hole in the bottom of the car, blew out the passenger windows and shattered the windshield.
FBI Agent Ray Greco says the explosion probably wasn't linked to letters mailed to state officials and Madison media this week. Those letters claimed that a group had planted land mines around the state.
