Gov. Blagojevich Starts Online Drug Petition

Last month Blagojevich suggested that Illinois consider importing drugs from Canada to take advantage of much lower prices there.

He says letting state employees and senior citizens buy Canadian drugs could cut state medical costs. The catch is that federal law prevents bringing foreign drugs into the country.

The proposal has also been criticized by the Food and Drug Administration as potentially dangerous.

The petition is on the Internet at: www.affordabledrugs.ill.gov
