Some of the trees that were damaged from the storm make pretty nice firewood.
As if most people haven't already had our fill of trees in the last couple of weeks, Rockford park district is giving everyone another opportunity.
Community members can now help themselves to wood chips and firewood at several park locations.
The wood is in small pieces. Leave the chain saws at home, they won't be needed. One warning, the wood is not seasoned.
It may need to dry for a year before burning. Wood chips are available in the parking lot of Sinnissippi Park or across from the Sinnissippi Golf Course.
Firewood is waiting for pick-up at Ingersoll Park on Daisyfield Road.
