Trip to Israel
This year started off with serious violence in one part of the world where a local woman just returned. We're talking about the Middle East and the deadly tensions between Israel and Hamas.

FROM MY CONGRESSMAN: For months, Hamas has been relentlessly firing missiles into Israel from Gaza, spreading terror and killing innocent civilians. I believe that Israel has a right to defend itself from constant, unprovoked, deadly attacks on innocent civilians, and no country would be expected to sit on its hands and simply allow its citizens to endure these kinds of vicious attacks without retaliating against the responsible party.

FYI: When the land, awarded to Britain having been on the winning side in WW2, was divided there were 2 countries, Israel and Jordan. No Palestine. Jordan did not want the "Palestinian" brothers & kept them isolated in DP camps. Those who went to Egypt were treated similarly. Moslems were given Gaza & West Bank by the Israelis to have a peaceful country along side its neighbor, Israel. Read an acurate history for facts.

Israel always want to ask others what they would do if the rockets were landing in their town. Fair enough, but what about the other perspective? What if Britain had agreed to give half of Illinois to someone else? Would the citizens of Illinois had agreed to a "fair" partition plan? What if they didn't, and it was taken by force? What if you resisted, and were bombed and labeled terrorist for fighting back? What if the world just sat back and let it happen? Or even worse, what if they supported it, and America funded it? The situation needs a little more perspective than what has been offered. I wish the Jewish people the best, but not at someone else's expense. With the help of America and the UN, Britain has caused the Palestinians over 60 years of suffering. The land was never theirs to give away, and it's time things were finally set straight. We can still defend Israel, but we have to stick up for Palestine too.
