Officer Larry Kamholz says police received reports of shots fired about noon Monday. After arriving on the scene, officers found the teenager with significant injuries.
Kamholz says the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
He says police made initial contact with a second man, who retreated inside the home with what officers believed was a rifle.
Police secured the area and were trying to make phone contact with the man in the house.
