The University of Illinois Board of Trustees is voting this week whether to provide benefits to same-sex couples.
Gay and lesbian couples who meet the University`s definition of domestic partnership could get health and dental insurance.
School officials estimate about seventy employees at all three campuses would apply for benefits if they're approved.
The vote is scheduled for Thursday. If approved, the benefits could be offered in January.
