A new lease agreement will ensure that Roy Gayle Park will be a field of dreams for young local ball players for at least another year.
The owners of the baseball complex signed a lease agreement with Houston, Texas-based SCI Management, which also owns the adjoining Willwood Burial Park.
The agreement guarantees that the baseball and softball diamonds will be a used for athletics through the 2004 season. Gayle Park is negotiating with the owners of the property to extend this current agreement, and is considering purchasing the land.
SCI Management is asking $33,000 an acre for the property.
