Roscoe, IL – Stillman Bank held an official ribbon cutting ceremony this morning to recognize the opening of the bank’s new Roscoe/Rockton office located at 5250 Bridge Street in Roscoe, Illinois at the intersection of Highway 251. Several local dignitaries were in attendance including Mayor H. Ward Sterett of Roscoe and members of the Roscoe and Rockton Chambers of Commerce. The bank took this opportunity to recognize those who were a part of the construction of the facility, including Hagney Architects LLC and Schmeling Construction Company.
Initially, the bank will be staffed by 11 employees, including tellers, lenders and retail bankers, who can assist customers with the opening of new accounts or the handling of loan applications. The office will be under the leadership of the bank’s Edward Munguia and Dennis J. Stien.
Edward Munguia, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will oversee operations of the new office, as well as the Rockford office where he currently serves as COO. Munguia has been with Stillman for six years and has been in banking for over 25 years. A Rockford resident, Munguia is active in many community and civic organizations. He currently serves on the boards of the Rockford Area Economic Development Council, the Rockford Local Development Corporation, and the Northern Illinois Community Development Corporation.
Dennis J. Stien, Senior Vice President and Senior Operating Officer, will serve as the head of the Roscoe/Rockton office. Stien has been with Stillman for five years and has more than 40 years of banking experience, having previously served as president of an area bank. As a Rockton native, Stien is involved with a number of organizations in the area including the American Legion, Hononegah Education Foundation, and St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
“We are excited about this opportunity to be a part of the rapid development in the area,” stated Rhodes. “Each year we find additional new business coming from our expanding marketplace which includes Roscoe, Rockton, South Beloit and the surrounding area. Not only is our new facility convenient for our existing customers in northern Winnebago County, but it also allows us to better serve their total banking needs.”
The new office is now open for business. Lobby hours are: Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 12 noon. Drive-up hours are: Monday – Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 12 noon. A Grand Opening Celebration will be held during the week of September 18, 2006.
