Garbage Pick-Up

On Saturday, 9/9, Rock River Disposal will have trucks making special runs through the hardest hit areas. Probably in the afternoon. There will also be some special runs on Monday, 9/11. Then there will be your regular pick-up next week, so the hardest hit areas will have 2-3 pick-ups within the next week.

The city has identified the Rolling Green area, Charles and 20th area, Churchill Park area (again along and south of Charles/north of Broadway) within the 61108 zip code as the hardest hit. Other areas while not experiencing the same level of damage should not worry. Your regular day and regular service will not be disrupted.

RRD urges citizens in these areas especially to get the stuff to the curb as soon as possible and we'll get it picked up. But you can help us expedite the effort by not making the bundles so heavy that we cannot pick them up. If it takes 4-5 people to drag a rug or couch to the curb, it will not make our work go quickly for you. Please help us help you. Containerizing is the best. By law we cannot take tires, paint, car batteries -- there are no exceptions.
