DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – Off-peak lane and shoulder closures are scheduled next week at the Belvidere and South Beloit toll plazas on the Northwest Tollway (I-90) as work continues to convert the plazas to Open Road Tolling (ORT) for non-stop toll collection for I-PASS users.
Two westbound ORT lanes are open at the Belvidere plaza and two eastbound ORT lanes are open at the Marengo Toll Plaza.
To ease congestion, the Belvidere and Marengo toll plazas were converted from bi-directional plazas collecting tolls in each direction to two single direction/split plazas.
Two ORT lanes are available in each direction at the South Beloit plaza.
The westbound left lane approaching the Belvidere plaza will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, for paving and drainage work. The closure is scheduled during off-peak hours to minimize the impact to traffic.
The outside shoulder in each direction approaching and departing the South Beloit plaza will close at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, for work to install roadway lights. The shoulders are scheduled to reopen in early October.
