Monday morning thunderstorms rolled through the stateline area, setting recovery efforts back. ComEd spokesman Paul Callighan says 6,000 people lost power from Mondays rain.
Most of those people were in southeast Rockford and Belvidere. 150 Com Ed crews had lowered the number of people without power to about 31,000 before the morning thunderstorms.
Callighan says the new round of storms pushes back the estimated time when power will be restored to everybody in the Rockford area. Tuesday afternoon is now the estimated time of completion.
