A Winnebago County sheriff’s deputy was shot at overnight.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department says a deputy was responding to a home invasion near Auburn High School.
While pursuing the possible suspects, one of them fired several shots at the deputy’s car. The deputy was not hit.
The home invasion at 1521 Carbaugh left one man wounded. Deputies say three white men wearing masks burst into the home and shot Ian Clark in the back. His condition is not known.
The Sheriff’s Department is not releasing the name of the deputy who was shot at.
