No Pledge of Allegience?

No Pledge of Allegiance at school?

If a ruling Wednesday by a federal appeals court in San Francisco is to stand, school kids won't be able to recite the Pledge, at least, in the nine Western states covered by the court.

The judges, in a 2-1 ruling, said the Pledge is unconstitutional because it contains the words "under God."

The Justice Department is getting ready to appeal the ruling against the Pledge of Allegiance. The government has said that the phrase "one nation under God" has just a small amount of religious content.

But a Sacramento atheist disagreed. He sued, saying he didn't want his daughter to have to recite the Pledge.
