Part of the process for adjusting student assignment in the Rockford schools is changing.
This is the part that involves parents. Wednesday night, The Rockford School Board revised the process including eliminating the step of having parent reps from each school go over recommendations.
A committee has been meeting and gathering information on student assignment. It's looked into how to improve it, specifically so kids don't have to be bused from one side of town to the other.
The board says parents can still voice their opinions by attending committee meetings. The parent council will see results from the Student Assessment Surveys next Tuesday.
The school board is expected to have a plan in place by November.
The district hasn't made any changes to student assignment since 1989.
