The man who took the most recognized picture during World War II--perhaps the most recognized picture in the history of warfare died yesterday. His name was Joe Rosenthal and he was a photographer for the Associated Press. You may not recognize his name, but most of us will recognize his Pulitzer Prize winning photo of US Marines raising the flag on Iwo Jima.
