At midnight Friday, Kelly-Springfield union members are supposed to have reached a contract agreement with the plant's parent company Goodyear.
Negotiations have been going on for more than a month. Sticking points have been a proposed pay cut, the doubling of insurance co-pays and elimination of 401k matching and cost of living increases.
Union workers have threatened to strike if a deal could not be reached in a timely manner.
The contract for the approximately 775 union employees at the Kelly-Springfield Plant expires July 6.
