Illinois now has an Emerald Ash Borer Action Plan. The state is going to use about $8 million in federal funding to fight the destructive insect. Illinois is home to 130 million ash trees. This year the Emerald Ash Borer is a big problem and could potentially destroy millions of ash trees. In Illinois, it was first discovered in Kane County. It's also been found in Evanston and Wilmette .
