The Northern Illinois Food Bank is going to have a great Thanksgiving this year thanks to a major donation from a grocery store chain. Kroger, which owns Hilander stores donated $10,000 to the Northern Illinois Food Bank. The food bank provides food to 13 counties throughout the area, including Rockford trying to provide for all those in need.
If we're looking for an easy way to give, right now Hilander stores in Rockford are conducting their annual food drive called 'Share Your Feast', it runs until the end of December.
Donations are picked up from stores by local food pantries in our community.
