Help may soon be on the way for parents of autistic children now struggling to pay for treatments. Illinois lawmakers just passed an autism insurance law. The measure requires insurance companies to cover autism treatments up to $36,000 a year until a patient turns 21. Governor Blagojevich still needs to sign the measure. if that happens, 4,500 families in Illinois would benefit from the coverage.
