Geography is helping to map out our future here in the stateline. Winnebago County is celebrating WinGis Day at Rockford Public Library. The goal is to highlight businesses that use geographic information systems, as well as promote geographic literacy in schools, communities, and organizations. The computer mapping tool can help solve problems related to the environment, health care, land use, and even our public safety. WinGis Day is a global event for the thousands of people who user the technology. Events similar to this one are held in 54 countries, and 41 U.S. States.
