A major medical breakthrough, research shows a cholesterol drug could dramatically lower our chances of a heart attack.
A new study finds statin drugs, which are used by millions of Americans to lower cholesterol, may also significantly help prevent strokes and heart attacks.
The study found participants with low to regular cholesterol taking Crestor were 47% less likely to have a heart attack or stroke compared to participants not on the drug.
Total mortality was reduced by 20% for those taking the cholesterol-lowering drug as well.
Some cholesterol drugs have already been shown to cut the risk of heart attacks and death in people with high cholesterol. Researchers wanted to know if a drug could do the same for those with normal levels.
But some warn, the drug could cost up to 9-billion a year for people who have relatively few heart attacks to begin with.

What nonsense! People have cholesterol problems because of Liver toxicity and most heart problems are caused by the plaking of the artery walls. Statin drugs' side affects are worse than any positive results they may have. Ask anyone who has been on them, and you will find out how unpleasant they are! This is more pharmaceutical nonsense to sell more of their garbage to us.
