Rockford is home to dozens of manufacturing companies and Gubernatorial Candidate Judy Baar Topinka says they deserve some perks. Topinka was at LJ Fabricators in Rockford today. She says if elected she'd give manufacturers five-percent off their taxes if they keep and create jobs for at least five years. The credit would help offset the costs of supplies and electricity used during production. "I want to ensure Illinois provides a stable and fair tax climate for job creators...we can't keep taxing companies and driving them over the border," says Topinka.
