A former CIA operative is suing top Bush administration officials over the disclosure of her identity to reporters. Valerie Plame says Vice President Cheney, his former top aide Lewis Libby and presidential adviser Karl Rove conspired to destroy her career. Plame alleges that her name was leaked in retaliation after her husband criticized the Bush administration's decision to go to war in Iraq. Joseph Wilson is a former US ambassador. Rove was questioned by a grand jury several times but was not charged. Libby has been indicted for allegedly lying to the FBI and a grand jury. Several news organizations wrote about Plame after syndicated columnist Robert Novak named her in a 2003 column.
