Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey is going straight to the source to find ways to get kids back in school.
He introduced a new "youth advisory council" to the public Monday. 16 students from different schools in Rockford are starting a marketing campaign for the city. They are discussing the different reasons students skip school. Then by the start of the school year they will get the message out that school is cool, in different words of course.
The council is working on figuring out the best way to reach other high school students with their message.
