Arrest, ID Made in 11th Homicide

Rockford Police say the man found dead Wednesday night on the city's west side was murdered. Now, a 44-year-old Rockford man is in custody for the murder of a 48-year-old.

Terrance Washington is charged with first degree murder. Investigators say he stabbed Anthony Wright numerous times in the head and neck. Washington is lodged in the Winnebago County Jail on $500,000 bond.

The body of a black man in his 40's - wrapped in a blanket - was found behind this vacant home on West State Street Wednesday night. The body is now identified as Anthony Wright. Investigators believe Wright had been dead for at least 24 hours before he was found. Wright is Rockford’s 11th murder victim of 2006.
