4th Homicide in Rockford

Early Saturday morning a neighbor found a man lying face down and called police. Now a murder suspect is wanted in Rockford's fourth homicide this year.

Police say they found 30 year old Pedro Marin in a vacant lot in the 300 block of North Hinkley Avenue. Marin received a gunshot wound to the head. After a day of investigating, police say Marin was involved in an argument with 19-year-old Shawn Barmore who then allegedly shot Marin.

Rockford police have a warrant out for the arrest of Shawn Barmore but do not know his whereabouts. If you have any information you are asked to call Rockford police or Crimestoppers at 963-7867 or toll free at 1-888-769-STOP.
