Clerical Worker Strike Over

By  |

On Saturday night clerical workers gathered behind closed doors to vote on the board's latest contract offer. The clerical workers were holding out for a three percent wage increase that would be retroactive to January 1st 2002. Confidential secretaries are already receiving a three percent increase. The contract was approved by a 106 to 10 vote.

After the retro pay the clerical workers will receive 2.6% wage increase over the next four years. Clerical workers say they didn’t get everything that they wanted but are glad that they are heading back to work.
