That's going to be the debate in Roscoe Monday night. Currently Roscoe has its own Police Department, but officers are looking for better pay and benefits.
The Police Department has decided to join the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police. The Roscoe Police Department doesn't have a contract with the Village of Roscoe, but a union would require one.
The Village President is fearful that contract negotiations could cost the village tens of thousands of dollars, so they are looking at bringing in Winnebago County officers.
A public forum on this issue will take place Monday night at Kinnikinnick School at 6:30 p.m.
