Troops On The Move

The New York Times is reporting that top U.S. Commander in Iraq, General George Casey has drafted plans to reduce the American military presence in Iraq. The plans would reduce the number of combat brigades by five or six from the current 14 by the end of 2007. The first reductions would reportedly involve 2 combat brigades that would rotate out of Iraq in September. Combat brigades generally have about 3,500 troops.
