Illinois' budget crunch is still being felt. This times its pharmacies that are hurting.
Currently Medicaid reimburses Illinois pharmacists a percentage of the cost of prescription drugs.
But proposed cuts in those prescription reimbursements could put some pharmacies especially the independents out of business.
Pharmacists still don't know the specifics as far as how deep cuts will be.
Those numbers are still being negotiated between the department of public aid and the Illinois pharmacists association. But the cuts could be as high as 120-million dollars.
