Rockford Residents Unite Against Crime

By  |

Some Rockford residents are hitting the streets to help keep their neighborhoods safe.

Some citizens are saying enough is enough. They've organized nightly marches in the seventh street area to help rid their streets of prostitution, drugs and violence.

Resident's on the city's east side are joining together to clean up their neighborhoods.

These people take to the streets nightly chanting words they hope prostitutes and drug abusers hear. They say they're tired of seeing their family’s lives in jeopardy.

Protestors say they won't give up. They'll continue to walk their streets until they feel they can step out their door into a safe neighborhood.

Earlier this week police arrested 11 people in a prostitution sting in the area of Seventh Street and Twelfth Avenue.
