One man is fighting for his life after gunshots rang out in a Rockford neighborhood early Wednesday morning. It happened just after midnight.

Police say three men were driving in a mini-van in the 300 block of Underwood when someone fired multiple gunshots at the vehicle. All three men inside were hit. One remains in critical condition.

Police say injuries to the two others are not life-threatening. Investigators say the shooter was likely among a group of people near the road.

Another man suffered minor injuries in a separate shooting. This one happened just after 11 Tuesday night. Police say two men approached two other men in the 1200 block of Morgan Street, to rob them. 27-year-old Maurice Bell ran off, and was shot in the back. His injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. The suspects then fled on foot.
