UW Tuition Up Nearly Seven Percent

By  |

Tuition for resident students this fall will increase $382 at UW Madison, $374 at UW Milwaukee, and $291 more for students at all other four and two-year campuses.

Mandatory fees would also rise by an average of $52 at the system's 13 four-year campuses, while room and board rates would increase an average of $240.

The regents also followed a UW System recommendation to lower nonresident tuition at all campuses, except UW Madison, to make rates more competitive with peer institutions.

The regents govern the UW System of 160,000 students. The 13-3 vote came Thursday at a meeting in Milwaukee.
