ROCKFORD (WIFR) – The help wanted sign is out at one family owned company in Rockford as part of a multi-million dollar expansion.
Slidematic Precision is adding 30 new jobs at its plant along Samuelson Road. 120 people already work there. Slidematic makes screws, nuts and bolts. The company also plans to add a second machine shop at an existing building on Sandy Hollow Road. The State of Illinois gave Slidematic a million dollars in combined tax credits and loans to help with the expansion.
“We care about the people that work here. It’s been ice to know that I and my two sons and my wife have been a part of each and every one person’s growth and their family and we’ve had something to do with them having kids and putting food on the table and sending their kids to school,” said Randy Baker, owner of Slidematic.
Baker expects to spend $4 million to expand his company and plans to open the new building within the next 3 months.
To apply for a job, you can send your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org or bring it in person to the plant located at 1303 Samuelson Rd, Rockford, IL 61109.
