Rockford College reports less than two-thirds of minorities graduate from high school. And even fewer attend college. So now they're trying to offer more opportunities to make for a successful workforce.

"With the minority populations growing and coming larger, they're gonna need more training to fill those jobs that are skilled positions and education can help that," said Jonica Trude, Rockford College

The college held an open house for first generation, minority, or low income high school students. It's their college readiness program. It offers college prep and leadership skills. If you missed today's event. You can contact Rockford College for more information.
