Getting local residents interested in careers in skilled manufacturing in the Stateline is the goal of a special effort which began today. The first manufacturing boot camp class of the summer toured Gleason Cutting Tool Corporation in Loves Park today. The tour is part of about 25 students' preparation for careers in manufacturing. The students will start class at Rock Valley College next Monday. A state grant is paying for their education because there is a manufacturing skills shortage in northern Illinois.
