Report: Governor's Office Altered Hiring After Probe Began

By  |

The Chicago Sun-Times reported today that several top aides in the Democrat's office reviewed each request to fill a job and discussed them in weekly closed-door meetings before posting the job opening themselves.

But a new flow chart published in January cut the governor's personnel office out of the process, ended the meetings and leaves job-posting to the agency requesting the job.

That was about two months after federal prosecutors subpoenaed hiring records from several government agencies.

Blagojevich spokeswoman Abby Ottenhoff says the revision was not related to the investigation.
