ROCKFORD (WIFR)- After days of chipping away, massive blocks of ice have been turned into works of art.
This is the winning sculpture at the 28th Annual Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition. The winning sculpture is a design called the Dragon Whisperer. It's made by the team Vikings in Black. Students at Rockford Christian High School won in the high school division with their work titled Hidden Power. The teams have been working on their creations since Wednesday and weren't allowed to use any power tools or molds. After picking away at the 10 foot tall blocks of snow for four days, the the winners say their biggest challenge was a major lack of sleep.
