Marengo Police Not Looking for Suspects in Woman's Death

Marengo Police Chief Leslie Kottke today said his department isn't looking for any other suspects in the death of Verna Corcoran.

That's because police believe Corcoran was killed by a man, who was fatally shot by police during a traffic stop Sunday while driving the woman's car.

McHenry County Coroner Marlene Lantz says Corcoran was strangled. Her body was found Sunday in her trailer home, which was in disarray.

Officials say 21-year-old Jose Manuel Aldava-Grijaldo was killed by Marengo police after leading them on a 15-mile car chase in Corcoran's car.
