A Marine's Homecoming

“It’s an experience I will never forget, and if I had the chance to do it all over again I would.” That’s what LNC Adam Blumer told 23 News just minutes after he arrived home for the first time in seven and a half months.

Blumer was a radio operator in Iraq responsible for testing tank communication systems before they were sent out. He believes conditions have gotten better since American and Iraqi forces were able to secure polling place, allowing Iraqi citizens to vote for the first time.

The toughest thing he said was being away from family for so long. Technology, however, makes it much easier to cope with being an ocean away from loved ones.

Blumer could e-mail and even talk to his family members whenever he had free time, every day if he wanted.
