Chicago Protest

America's immigrants were making their voices heard by protesting in huge numbers all across the country.

More than 300,000 people took to the streets in Chicago to show support for immigration reform.

Chanting “yes we can,” waving flags and carrying signs, illegal immigrants and their supporters are boycotting their jobs, schools, and businesses. It's an effort to show the economic power and importance of immigrants.

May 1 is International Labor Day, and many are now also calling it national "Day Without Immigrants."
