UPDATE: Police Release Description of Vehicle Involved in Fatal Hit-and-Run

UPDATE: ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Police now have a description of the suspect’s vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Rockford’s northeast side.

Officers believe the driver was in a 2004-2008 Chevy Malibu or Malibu Classic, with damage to the passenger-side front corner.

Early last Thursday, 55-year-old Robert Hill was hit in the 3300 block of North Main Street. He later died from his injuries.

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The Rockford man found hurt and bloody in the middle of North Main Street after being hit by a car earlier this week dies.

Rockford Police say Robert Hill, 55, died from those injuries Saturday afternoon.

He was found lying in the road in the 3300 block of North Main Street around 2am Thursday. Three people saw hill and called 9-1-1.

Police are asking for our help in finding the driver of the vehicle who hit hill. Anyone with information should call Rockford Police at (815) 987-5824 or Crime Stoppers at (815) 963-7867.

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A man is in serious condition after an apparent hit-and-run.

Rockford police responded to a 911 call around 2 a.m. Thursday in the 3300 block of North Main Street. When officers arrived on scene they found the victim lying in the road bleeding.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for serious, life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
