Gang Members Arrested on Drug Charges

The arrests conclude a joint two month drug investigation by the Belvidere Police Department and the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

The following persons were arrested:

1. Marty E. Flint, age 22, of Belvidere, was charged with one count of unlawful deliver cannabis – 30 to 500 grams (class 3 felony), one count of unlawful deliver of cannabis – 10 to 30 grams (class 4 felony) and one count of unlawful possession with intent to deliver of cannabis – 10 to 30 grams (class 4 felony). Flint is currently in the custody of the Boone County Jail on a $102,000.00 (10%) bond.

2. Sara L. Gibson, age 25, of Belvidere, was charged with one count of unlawful delivery of cannabis – 30 to 500 grams (class 3 felony) and one count of unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis – 10 to 30 grams (class 4 felony). Gibson is currently in the custody of the Boone County Jail on a $102,000.00 (10%) bond.

The arrests of Flint and Gibson came after multiple complaints were received from area residents in the 400 block of Buchanan Street. During the investigation, Belvidere and Boone County narcotic officers were able to purchase narcotics from the residence on multiple occasions.

On April 20, 2006, Belvidere narcotic detectives, Boone County narcotic officers, Belvidere patrol officers and a K-9 unit executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Buchanan Street, Belvidere, Illinois.

Police seized cannabis, drug paraphernalia, drug packaging material and united states currency. Two small children were also removed from the residence and turned over to relatives.
