Topinka: Ryan Verdict Will Make Voters More Picky

She says Ryan's conviction leaves a bad taste in people's mouths and they'll expect more honesty and integrity out of their elected officials as a result.

Topinka spoke Tuesday during The Executives' Club of Chicago women's leadership breakfast. She says Ryan's racketeering and fraud trial wasn't good for the state or for the public.

But the state treasurer says her office has always been transparent, and if elected the governor's office also will be honest and upfront.
