Tyler Kinison's death also left a wife without her husband, a family without a son, and a hole in the lives of his many friends throughout the stateline. Saturday, those people gathered to celebrate his life.
Those who knew Tyler Kinison say his life revolved around four F's: family, friends and fighting fires. All of those elements gathered at his beloved firehouse to take part in a benefit that included live music, a silent auction, and a slideshow remembering Tyler. His brothers say Tyler wouldn't have wanted them to sit around feeling sorry for themselves.
Stewart Kinison, Tyler’s brother, states, "This has been more of just a celebration of his life, you know, bring people out from the community and celebrate Tyler. This is what he would have wanted, a good time."
Those who knew Kinison remembered him as being a fun-loving and trusted friend as well as a devoted husband. They are also planning a golf outing as well as a bowling event later this summer in his honor.
Those who wish to support the Kinison family can do so by contacting the Cherry Valley Fire Department. The department is also selling memorial stickers to raise money for the family.
