Kids often complain that what they learn in school can't be applied, but at least one group of Auburn teens are proving that theory wrong. Auburn tech education instructor Mark Sargent says these are some of his best students. They learned the basics of wiring and wanted to put their knowledge to good use. The 11 students aren't certified but their skills were good enough to help do electrical work for this Habitat for Humanity home

"When you look around and you see the work you've done, and somebody's going to be living here, it's kind of like really cool, you feel really proud, that you did it and somebody's going to be actually living in your work," said Destany Francisco, an Auburn student.

Students worked four days in June and finish up the remaining work today.
