Blagojevich Opens BIO 2006 Meeting in Chicago

About 200 industry leaders from across Wisconsin are attending the conference, which is being held in the Midwest for the first time.

Wisconsin has 1,600 square feet of exhibition space to showcase its biotech advances and efforts, including its research institution, UW Madison, the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation and the University Research Park.

The conference, called BIO 2006, is being held in downtown Chicago Monday through Wednesday. It's the industry's largest gathering of researchers, corporations and investors.

About 20,000 people are expected to attend.
