UI Trustees Consider Tuition and Fee Hikes

By  |

The university's board of trustees will be asked next week to approve tuition increases for Illinois residents of $293 per semester for the Chicago campus and $333 per semester at Urbana-Champaign. Residents at the Springfield campus would pay about $500 more per semester.

The trustees will also be asked to approve increases in mandatory student fees and room-and-board costs at all three campuses. And they'll consider a special fee to address the building maintenance backlog. That fee would be $250 per semester for full-time students at Chicago and Urbana and $8.33 per credit hour for Springfield.
